CUPCAKES FAQ

Q: How do I enroll my child in your program?
A: The first step to securing a spot for your child at Cupcakes is to set up an enrollment interview and facility
tour. You may contact us through email at contact@cupcakescare.com or by phone at 480-213-5577.
Interviews can be scheduled at your convenience; evening and weekend interviews are available.  At the
interview, you will be provided with an enrollment packet containing all of Cupcakes' forms and policies.  We will
be happy to walk you through the packet and answer any questions that you still have.

Q: Do you require enrolled children to have immunizations?
A: Yes, all children are required to have up-to-date immunization records on file at the time of enrollment.

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Yes, there are two little Pugs, Caspian and Bella, who live at the Cupcakes house.  They are both licensed
with rabies shots and are great with kids.  Even though we love these little clowns very much they are not
allowed in the school room or the play yard out of consideration for children with allergies.

The same goes for our lovely kitty cat Lucy.  Most likely she will be sleeping the day away in the front yard flower
beds, and will remain out of all child-occupied areas.

Q: Do you have a pool?
A: No, we do not have a pool or any other type of water hazards on the property.

Q: Is Cupcakes a non-smoking facility?
A: Yes, cupcakes is smoke-free. There is no smoking allowed in the home or on the property at any time.

Q: Your tuition costs seem to be higher than other home “daycare” programs that I have seen.  Why
is this?

A: First and foremost Cupcakes is focused on
early childhood care and education, and strives to set itself
apart from typical home “daycare” through the use of a Montessori inspired curriculum,  high quality facilities,
nutritious meals and snacks (provided), and daily take home arts and craft projects.  Your child will be given
opportunities to explore the world around him or her through educational play, simple science experiments,
gardening, cooking, yoga, music making, and many other enriching activities.  When it comes to your child’s
care and education we do not spare any expense in making sure that we are prepared to offer the best in
facilities, food, and fun!

Q: What are your facilities like?
A: Children who are enrolled at Cupcakes will have a large grassy yard with lots of shade to play in, as well as a
dedicated child care facility in the casita off the main house.  This main school room is outfitted with kid-friendly
furniture and extra high quality sleeping mats.  Each infant will be given his or her own full size crib for sleeping.
Babies and children will always have access to age appropriate toys, games, books, and music.  Our facilities
also include access to cold filtered drinking water at all times, a bathroom that is for children’s use only, and
personal cubby space for each child’s personal belongings.

Q: How will you insure the health and safety of my child?
A: Cupcakes is dedicated to the health and safety of your child.  Being moms of young children ourselves, we
are self-confessed “germaphobes” and take great pride in the cleanliness of our facilities.  Toys and furniture
are sanitized and checked for safety at the end of every school day, and Cupcakes’ health and safety standards
are based on the guidelines set forth by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Q: What licenses and certifications do you have?
A: Cupcakes is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services.  Heather and Jackie (care providers)
are both certified in Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid, and hold current fingerprint clearance cards issued by
the Department of Public Safety. They are college educated in both psychology and sociology, and are
constantly seeking further education and certifications in child development through workshops, books, and
classes.

Q: Are parents allowed to visit their child during the day?
A: YES! We encourage parent involvement and welcome you to visit your little one or observe the classroom at
anytime.  We also welcome feedback and ideas because we believe that parents who are involved in their
children’s education and care make the world a better place for children and teachers alike.

Q: Are you able to accommodate my child’s food allergy or other individual physical/emotional
needs?
A: At the enrollment interview we will be happy to talk to you about your child's individual needs.  As long as both
parties feel that Cupcakes is a good fit for your child we are happy to create an individualized plan to
accommodate his or her unique needs.
